A Very HOT 38th Annual Rally – 7th July 2019.
West Cumbria Vintage Club 38th annual rally took place on 7th July 2019. The was held at Hayescastle Farm at Distington. The weather was exceptionally hot, warm and dry there were over 400 entrants from as far away as Kent, Ayrshire, West Yorkshire, attracting about 5,000 visitors. As well as all manner of vehicles, there were over 60 trade stands, 18 charities, marquees with models and collections, local crafts, and refreshments. Added to this was a Pipe Band , also a very fine mobile bar did a good trade as did the ice cream vans, a gymkhana and a fun fair all of which kept everyone entertained. Activities commenced in the Auction Filed t 10-45 with a sale of tools, equipment, vehicle spares, machinery etc.

To encourage young people to attend there is now a Quad Bike Driving Agility Competition, held in the early morning competitors coming from local Young Farmers Clubs.
Throughout the day there were many spectators in attendance enjoying the exhibits and stalls.
The day drew to a close with the Prize giving and drawing of the annual club raffle.
Thanks go to all that helped to set up the event, stewards in the car park and on the field, and especially to those who helped clear the field and return in to a fit state for animals.
Now that the dust has settled its time to start planning the 2020 rally which will be on Sunday 5th 2020. Same place, same time.
